Lifting High the Cross

Yesterday, Today and Always

Those dedicated individuals who were involved in the beginning were led by the Holy Spirit to seek and welcome change. The first services were held in a school. As the congregation grew, plans were made to build a church on the site where Faith now stands.

Perhaps their vision in 1955 was not so different from ours today. Matthew 28 directs us to “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”.

Over the past fifty years styles of worship, our leaders and membership have changed, but the love of Jesus and his teachings are always constant in our lives.

Thank you to over 60 members who have researched and presented us with the history of Faith. These members have been ably led by Jean Butler; Barb Dillahunt; Ginny Greenawalt; Sally Hauth; Dick Kesti; Charlie Ramsey; Ed Rich; Bill Robinson; Sarah Shook; Ruth Simpson; Donna Sterner; Lowell and Marlene Unger; Terry and Judy Vernon; Bill Woodall; and Kathy Zbinden. A very special thank you goes to Steve Thompson who was the chairman of the history group. Countless hours have been spent researching our fifty year history.

As we enter the next fifty years may we always “lift high the cross” and keep Jesus Christ as our guiding light.

Best,

Polly Dobkin
