A scroll and a quill pen in an inkwell symbolize the original charter. The charter reads in part "we pledge the Mission Board that we will faithfully and diligently prepare ourselves for membership in the congregation…we pledge to support its efforts and do all within our ability to support its growth." Fifty charter members were enrolled by July 28, 1955. The service of organization was held on Sunday, September 25, 1955.
