5. The symbols of the former United Lutheran Church Women organization and the present Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are combined in this square. The United Lutheran Church Women were organized in October 1955 with Clara Frankenfield as president. WELCA members contribute to the youth group of the church, Church Women United, and Lutheran World Relief. They help serve congregational lunches, bereavement luncheons, and assist with weddings and rehearsals.
