the day before Lent begins

I must confess that I really love the season of Lent.  I love the fact that it is almost spring,  that the days are longer, and that Easter is right around the corner.  But as I contemplate Lent, I also love the fact that I feel called to a higher purpose.  It is a seson to think of others, a season of reflection, a time to draw closser to God.

Pope Francis (of whom I am a big fan) has encouraged his followers to "give up" indifference for Lent!  He is encouraging everyone to find a cause about which they are passionate and do something!   I think it's a great idea.

The Salvatin Army is encouraging folks to declutter during Lent.  By collecting one or more items you no longer need during the 40 days and donating to Salvatin Army, GoodWill, or other organizations you can help others by creating a more serence environment in your home.

I always invite people to add something during Lent instead of giving up!  More prayer, reading a devotional, volunterring, visiting a shut-in, the list is truly endless.

So, how 'bout it?  what might YOU do this holy season to draw closer to God?   shoot me an email at and let me know.

Lent/Spring blessings!
