Busy Fingers Makes Quilts for OPEN M
Oct 31, 2023
Very colorful material was used today, on this last day of October, to make quilts for OPEN M.
The Busy Fingers ladies have been making patch-work quilts for over 50 years.
You do not need to be a seamstress to help. Jobs are plentiful! We cut fabric, rip seams, pin fabric pieces together and assemble them into a twin-size quilt top and then finally sew all the pieces together to make a quilt or blanket. Our goal is to make 100 quilts a year. The quilts are then distributed through OPEN M.
While our assembly process has evolved over the years, we still make all the quilts from donated fabrics. If it’s fabric, we will use it! We mainly can use cottons, flannels and fleece (prints and solids), but we gladly accept any kind, weight and size of material, including curtains, flannel shirts, sheets, tablecloths as well as yardage of fabric. We also accept donations of sewing thread.
The busy fingers ladies meet every Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:30 in Faith’s Fellowship Hall.
