At Faith, we take a multi-faceted approach to experiencing faith and life with our youth.
August 2021 - update
Now that we are moving into another year and things have gotten a bit better with the pandemic/vaccinations, Abby and Eric want to encourage both youth and parents to re-engage at a pace you are comfortable with! We will continue to hold events and meetings in-person with safety in mind at all times. If you want to continue to wear a mask (Eric still does even though he is vaccinated!) don't feel like you're an outsider! This past year has changed many of our normal everyday routines, including going to church and events, and we recognize that it is a challenge to reintegrate into 'normal' again. We are here for you as we all continue this process of coming back together. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to one or both of us!
The Acolyte/Communion Assistant schedule has been sent to all confirmation youth and parents. We are hoping that participation in service continues to help get people back into the building and into regular routines. The schedule can be found below!
2022 National Youth Gathering
We recently held a meeting to discuss the 2022 National Gathering in MN (July 24-28) with youth and parents. Currently we have a group of 3 adults and 5 youth interested in attending. We are currently working on fundraisers to help get the group to MN. Total cost per person will be around $1k for airfare, meals, registration and hotel. Registration opens in September. If you are in high school, or will be a freshman in the Fall of 2022 and are interested in going to the Gathering please reach out to Eric ASAP!
Thank you to the families that joined us Friday, July 23rd for the indoor movie night at the church. We had a great time watching the original Muppet Movie with you!
Confirmation youth and parents, please make sure you have Saturday, October 16 on your calendar for the first Confirmation Learning Saturday! During this time we will also conduct Acolyte/Communion Assistant Training. Retreat runs from 8:30am-12pm.
As we continue our return to all in-person programming, Eric and Abby look forward to the connection time with our youth between services from 10-10:30am. Join us for snacks, fellowship and conversation between services!
For youth in grades 6-8, we offer a comprehensive experience with the goal of being confirmed. The program consists of requirements in 3’s that relate to staple elements of the church as a whole: education, community service and fellowship. For more information on the comprehensive program and requirements, contact Eric!
Reminder: We have our first Confirmation Learning Saturday on October 16 from 8:30 am-12 pm.
First, please make sure that we have the most current contact information for youth and parents/guardians. Please follow this link to a fillable form that will be sent directly to Eric! I am asking that ALL confirmation families fill this out. It should only take about 3 minutes. 2020/2021 FLCYouth Contact Info.
Secondly, if you have not joined our Remind texting group, please do so after updating your contact info! The app is one of the central ways we are able to contact youth and parents in a much more time efficient manner. Download the Remind app and add our class: @ydirec
PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO REACH OUT!!! You all are so important to us, and your thoughts and opinions help guide our programming!
Thank you, and let's have a great year together!
Eric, Abby and Pastor Jean
