The fifth annual International Day of Peace was held Saturday, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Waters Park in Akron. It was a day to celebrate leaders in the North Hill community. Dana Singer and the Loads of Faith Laundry Ministry, that operates at Laundry Time in North Hill, was one of seven people and organizations to receive the 2025 Truth North Award. The awards were given to the community leaders, business leaders, and youth leaders that live their lives centered around the wellness and development of North Hill's community. Nancy Tobar accepted the award on behalf of Faith Lutheran Church and Dana Singer, who was unable to attend.
For the past three years, our Loads of Faith ministry has had the privilege of offering free laundry service to residents of the North Hill community on the last Wednesday of each month at Laundry Time Laundromat on Main Street. During this time, we have been able to serve more than 1,000 families and wash over 10,000 ten-pound loads of laundry.
